Cropped black leather moto-style jacket is must-have capsule piece. This classic, refined yet stylish design has been constructed of high-quality, Vegetable-tanned Chicago Horween leather. Production Mode is committed to local sourcing, non-toxic processes, and fair trade, ethical practices.
Vegetable tanning is a slow, non-toxic process which uses tree bark to cure the leather and which produces hides with rich, warm, and uniquely variegated tones that improve as they age. In addition, vegetable tanned leather can be more easily and safely recycled than chrome tanned leather (the most commonly used and often quite toxic method of processing leather).
This jacket is sewn at Production Mode’s Chicago studio by an artisan hired through Loom, a social enterprise of Catholic Charities Refugee Resettlement Program. Production Mode pays a living wage to all workers in our supply chain.
Each piece highlights the natural textures and supple hand of of the material–a 2.5 oz vegetable tanned leather. Decorative topstitching accents the curves of the yoke and the princess seams. The jacket includes two exterior welt pockets and an antique brass zipper closure, and is fully lined with 100% bemberg rayon lining.
